Fire Weather Watch in effect September 9-10, 2022
St. Helens has been upgraded to a Red Flag Warning by the National Weather Service from Friday, September 9 at 11 a.m. until Saturday, September 10 at 11 p.m.
Critical fire weather conditions are forecasted for our area by the National Weather Service. Dry, windy conditions will be favorable for rapid fire spread.
The Columbia County Fire Defense Board has issued a complete burn ban, including recreation burning due to the Red Flag Warning. This includes campfires, patio fireplaces, charcoal BBQ, etc.
At this time, Columbia River PUD is not planning any power shutoffs in anticipation of the Red Flag Warning in effect. However, they want you to know that if emergency conditions develop, they may have little time to warn customers of a power shutoff. Follow them on their Facebook page or watch their website where they will post updates.
Columbia County has issued a campfire ban at all county parks through Monday or Tuesday.
