Speaker Information
Janice Sellers
Janice Sellers is a professional genealogist and international speaker specializing in Black, Jewish, and dual citizenship research. She is the president of the Jewish Genealogical Society of Oregon. She is the publicity director, programming director, and a board member of San Francisco Bay Area Jewish Genealogical Society and a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists, Council for the Advancement of Forensic Genealogy, Genealogical Speakers Guild, and Genealogical Forum of Oregon (GFO). At GFO she is the coordinator of the African American Special Interest Group. She has volunteered at LDS FamilySearch Centers since 2000 and gives presentations on many genealogical topics at local to international events. Before becoming a professional genealogist, she worked in publishing for many years as an editor, indexer, translator, and compositor. Her favorite books are Encyclopedia Brittanica and Oxford Dictionary of the English Language.
Pam Vestal
Pam Vestal specializes in conducting extensive family history research and then turning the genealogical facts into illustrated stories that anyone can enjoy. After a 20-year career as a professional writer, Pam turned her full attention to her long-time love of genealogy. Since then, her articles have appeared in the National Genealogy Society magazine, Association of Professional Genealogists Quarterly, and the Federation of Genealogical Society’s Forum. As a national speaker, her lectures have taking her all over the United States. She is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists.
