Gnome Scavenger Hunt
Sunday, February 28, 2021 - 12:00am to 11:45pm
HELP! The Tree Gnomes have taken over our parks and green spaces. The Tree Gnomes are hidden throughout our parks, so our Parks and Rec crew have teamed up to help you hone in on their locations.
Tip: Look for a red hat, blue gloves, and a little nose that could either be made of a yarn or pinecone.
Post a selfie with the Tree Gnome and use the hashtag #SHPRGNOMETAKEOVER.
Be careful not to give away the location in your photo!
There will be a total of eight Tree Gnomes that will appear during the scavenger hunt. They have settled down in eight different parks within St. Helens city limits.
Can you find the whole Tree Gnome family?
The scavenger hunt starts January 12th. Every Tuesday we will post a new clue. We will draw names for prizes from the hashtags be sure to tag us in your photos as well.
Clue Number 1:
You will find Oakley the Gnome in a part of McCormick Park that is filled with oak trees and trails swirling around you. As you search, you may see that around the number 3 on a tree, Oakley is playing a disc golf game, but watch out because gnomes have bad aim.
Clue Number 2:
Can you help us find Oakley’s Uncle Douglas Firman? He was last seen headed to Columbia View Park for a spot with a lovely waterfront view. As you search for Doug, be sure to search high and low, far and wide, and make sure to look again because he may have been on the “fence” about where to hide.
