Makerspace Appointments with Jana

Appointments can be scheduled with our Makerspace Librarian, Jana for the following reasons: 

Closed Memorial Day

In observance of Memorial Day the St. Helens Public Library and Columbia Center will be closed Monday, May 25, 2026.

First Saturday Makers

Open hours are from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and allow makers to use the Makerspace to work on their own projects.Open hours allow makers to use the Makerspace to work on their own projects. This unstructured time gives makers access to the Makerspace equipment. Certification or an introduction to some equipment require an appointment with Jana, our Makerspace Librarian. She will be in the room to monitor use and provide limited support.

Makers may use three types of equipment:

TAB presents Noise Party

Teen Advisory Board (TAB) invites all teens aged 13-18 to bring friends, musical instruments (including your voice) to the auditorium to learn 6/7 things about sight reading and counting music while having fun with friends.

Come and enjoy time with fellow teens aged 13-17 years old while planning future teen library experiences. Pizza and snacks provided.

Youth STEAM Wednesdays:

Interested in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, or Math? Join us for a fun introduction to STEAM Maker activity led by Miss Jana! This hands-on class is for participants aged 6-12. Children aged 10 and younger must be accompanied by their adult. No registration required.

LEGO® Free Play

LEGO® Free Play, 4:00 pm, 

Join us in the Children's Room for unstructured, drop-in, LEGO® play time with our growing collection of donated LEGO® sets. DUPLO sets are available for younger children. Come create with us! Ages 2-17 are welcome. 

You do not need to be a resident of St. Helens or have a St. Helens Public Library card to participate in LEGO® Free Play.

 

Wee Wigglers Storytime

Wee Wigglers Storytime Collaboration with NWRSED
Ages 0-5

No Registration Required 

Join Miss Kristen and Miss Katie for a high-energy multisensory storytime to read stories, sing songs, and get the wiggles out! Besides being tons of fun, this supports attention, understanding, memory, and engagement while helping children learn through their whole bodies.
