Maker Monday

Open hours are from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and allow makers to use the Makerspace to work on their own projects. This unstructured time gives makers access to the Makerspace equipment. Certification or an introduction to some equipment require an appointment with Jana, our Makerspace Librarian, during maker appointment time on Tuesdays and Thursdays. She will be in the room to monitor use and provide limited support.

Makers may use three types of equipment:

Appointments can be scheduled with our Makerspace Librarian, Jana for the following reasons: 

First Saturday Makers

Toddler Time, 11:00 am Tuesdays 1st and 3rd Tuesdays beginning 9/2 in the auditorium

Teen Makers (Age 13-17)

Junior Makers STEAM

Junior Makers STEAM (Age 10-14),

Wednesday 4:00--5:30 pm

Interested in creating your own mask?  Provided supplies will include: feathers, foam, cardboard, beads, fabric, ribbon, pipe cleaners, etc. Come use the Makerspace Die Cutter and other supplies provided to create your very own mask.  This program is appropriate for ages 10-14. No registration is required. Children aged 10 must be accompanied by an adult.

Maker Kids STEAM

Maker Kids STEAM (Age 6-10)

Wednesday, 4:00--5:30 pm

Interested in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, or Math? Join us for a fun introduction to STEAM Maker activity led by Miss Jana! This hands-on class is for participants aged 10 - 14. Children aged 10 must be accompanied by their adult. No registration required.

This program is appropriate for ages 6-10.

LEGO® Free Play

LEGO® Free Play, , 4:00 pm, 

Join us in the Children's Room for unstructured, drop-in, LEGO® play time with our growing collection of donated LEGO® sets. DUPLO sets are available for younger children. Come create with us! Ages 2-17 are welcome. 

You do not need to be a resident of St. Helens or have a St. Helens Public Library card to participate in LEGO® Free Play.

 

Family Storytime

Family Storytime - Join us for a half hour of stories, body movement, singing, dancing and rhymes!
